Brazil’s sanitation challenges abound but proposals remain scarce

Celebrated by the sector upon its approval in July 2020, Brazil’s legal framework for sanitation becomes sanitation that water supply and sewage collection and treatment services must universal in the country by 2033.

But even with more than a decade to go until the deadline, the sector believes that previously established goals may become unattainable if Brazil’s next government does not pay adequate attention to sanitation right from the beginning of its administration.
