A dog that arrived to the JHS in ‘terrible condition’

On October 31, a local discovered a little dog in a crate at a park. The crate's bars were covered in hair from the dog.

The dog was brought to the Jacksonville Humane Society, where staff members saw that he was very matted and had painfully long nails.

The dog was given the moniker "Small Fry" because the caretakers anticipated uncovering a small dog beneath the matted hair after shaving it.

After seizing Small Fry, they learned that the only way to alleviate the agony of the extensive scarring and canine dry eye was to remove the dog's eyes.

After the operation, Small Fry made a good recovery and soon adapted to losing his vision.

After the dog had fully recovered, Mary took in Small Fry.
