Maryland guy wins $1 million lottery after jackpot uncertainty.

A Maryland guy won $1 million in Mega Millions after mistaking which lottery drawing offered a big jackpot.

Adelphi's man told Maryland Lottery officials that he rarely plays lottery games.

"I don't have a favourite game," the hospital maintenance worker stated. "I wouldn't have bought a ticket that day without all the jackpot talk."

In early November, "the jackpot stuff popped in my head" as he drove home from work.

At Adelphi's 7-Eleven, the player couldn't remember which drawing had a big prize.

The man won $1 million in the Nov. 8 Mega Millions drawing, not the $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot on Nov. 7.
